Voting Member Registration Form

356 NE 80th Ave.

Portland, OR 97213

1.  Who can become a voting member?

Our Center has many people who come here each week. Some are casual visitors; others are active participants in Center life. Some are Kriyabans; some are new students of the SRF Lessons. Some are children of members. All are welcome. For purposes of running the Center, though, our bylaws define two categories of voting membership:

A.   Regular Member:  To be a regular Portland Center member, an individual must:

  1. Be a student of the SRF Lessons or have completed the SRF Lessons.

  2. Accept and uphold the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda and the spiritual principles stated in his teachings.

  3. Regularly attend Services and membership meetings of the Portland Center. Any person who attends on average two Services a month for at least six (6) months is deemed to have met the “regular attendance” requirement. (Exceptions due to extenuating circumstances may be approved by the Managing Council)

  4. Accept and uphold the principles of the Bylaws.

  5. Accept and uphold the decisions of the Managing Council.

  6. Not be an active member of a church other than SRF, and

  7. Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

B.  Kriyaban Member: A Kriyaban member is a regular member who has also received

from SRF the spiritual baptism of Kriya Yoga Initiation.

The rights and responsibilities of being a voting member are not bestowed by someone else. It is up to each individual to decide whether the above criteria are satisfied and whether he or she wishes to register as a voting member.

2. How do I become a voting member?

If you have read and understood the requirements for membership, and believe you qualify to become a voting member, please provide the information below and initial the box Regular Member or Kriyaban.
